MISSION STATEMENT

The Alliance of British Animation Exhibitors (ABAE) is a hub for British animation in the UK, working with key partners to support, exhibit and promote British animation to the UK and the rest of the world.

Aims

  • Represent the British animation culture and independent animators
  • Attend Annecy Festival in June and arrange an ABAE reception (network and cultural showcase event)
  • Take British animation programmes and animators to local and international festivals and events
  • Attend as many member festivals as possible each year
  • Hold annual or biannual board meetings
  • Select and champion an annual curated programme of British short animation films from respective festival submissions
  • To promote UK independent animators and studios at animation events and engagements
  • Suggest and encourage screenings, meetings, exhibitions and distribution
  • Aim to include one public screening at each respective UK festival
  • Launch an online archive of British animation
  • Organise industry networking events
  • Bring in more British animators and industry professionals to our festivals for Q&As

Membership Criteria

Members should be representative of a UK animation exhibition organisation.

The ABAE encourages a minimum of 90 minutes combined screen time of animation at member events and/or a dedicated animation award.

Voting: One vote per organisation.
